Fishing
Ayas,
crossed by Evancon, offers numerous occasion for a good fishing day.
There are lakes reachable with a few hours of excursion: I recommend you
to know more about your aims looking in its page in this website. I am
disposable for advices and clearings, of course. NB:
fishing in the Valley isn't for free. You must have your FIPS licence (honestly,
I don't know if other countries' licences are good - try asking to the
AIAT), and special passes, given at the city hall and in the AIATs. The
one day pass, which allows you to capture 8 fishes, cosys 17€. There
are passes with longer date of expiry.
Controls
are quite frequents: not only "Guardie Forestali", as Italian
Rangers are called, but also Ayas' fishguards, who have to identify
themselves with an identification pass.

Evançon
Torrent
Characterized
by wide parts with medium stream, this torrent is good for fishing from
Frachey's zone, because before it presents a zone of rapids, with a lot
of rocks.
The
sheets of water between Frachey and Champoluc offer the possibility of
catching beautiful trouts, usually Iridee but also Fario, not really
big. Unfortunately the presence of big "islands" of stones
slows the streams; paradoxally, in the city center you'll find the
torrent deeper. Some
advices? In general fishermen use to run up the stream, maybe starting
from the center to go up towards Frachey. I recommend to use a float
thin and sensible, to feel soon the fish's touch.
Lake
Ciarcerio
This
lake has alternately been marked "high abundance of fish" and
"normal" during the years. Nevertheless, it's a wide basin
which always offer the possibility to catch beautiful preys: I'm
speaking about Fario trouts, even if I'm not sure about the lack of
other species.
The
problem is the lake's vastity: trouts eat only twice a day, and not for
more than 40 minutes. how can you catch them?
It's
true, trout is a fish which loves moving; so, you don't have to haunt it,
because it "checks" costantly
the lake's banks looking for food. But Ciarcerio is really wide,
and you have to follow all the signs you can see on the water, and move
often.
An
advice? The bank near path's arrival, the one close to skilift's
terminal; deep water, space and shadows, almost on sunrise.
